Forest Creek Golf Club’s North Course Hosts the 2022 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship

Forest Creek Golf Club hosted the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Boys 12 year-old division this week, August 4 – 6, 2022. The three-day tournament was played on the North Course, recently ranked 14th on Golfweek’s list of top North Carolina Private Courses.

The championship is the world’s largest junior golf tournament with over 1,200 players from across the globe. Each year this tournament brings the best juniors ages 5-12 to the Sandhills to compete across 10 Pinehurst area courses. The top 20 players in the Boys & Girls 12 year-old division qualify to play in the Van Horn Cup, a best ball event played on Pinehurst No. 4.

“It’s a tremendous honor to host the event this year and be a part of this tradition in junior golf. Our entire staff would like to congratulate all the players for making it here and applaud Anthony Wu for three rounds of superb play and his well deserved Boys 12 championship,” says David Dew, Colony 9 Partner and COO of Forest Creek Golf Club. “This event would not be possible without the dedication from all the U.S. Kids Golf staff and volunteers who make this such a special week for so many kids and families across the world.”

Anthony Wu (Short Hills, NJ) finished with a three-round total of 206 (-10) and a two-shot victory over runner up, Yunze Wang (Beijing, China).
